WHAT IS PET THERAPY?

Pet therapy isn't therapy for pets with disorders. Pet therapy is a program with volunteers who periodically take an animal to places such as nursing homes, retirement homes and children's hospitals to provide the opportunity for their residents to visit with the animals. The Capital Area Animal Welfare Society hosts a program in Baton Rouge, LA. This group meets every other weekend.
